The Washington Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will host its 11th annual Tour of Homes next month.

The event, set to begin at noon on Saturday, May 10, features a tour of six homes in the school’s district, spanning architectural periods from the early 1930s through the present, and showcasing period homes from the Washington-Willow historic district to modern condominiums on Dickson Street.

The tour this year includes:

  • 503 E. Prospect St. – Exterior Designer Daniel Keeley of DK Designs
  • 531 N. Sequoyah Dr. – The Lefler-Noll House
  • 426 N. Highland Ave. – Aaron and Ashley Bernstein
  • 507 N. Park Avenue – Suzannah M. Garrison
  • 609 W. Dickson St. #901 – Dr. and Mrs. Michael Liggett
  • 609 W. Dickson St. #905 – Todd and Kristie Ross

The Tour of Homes is a fundraiser for the school, providing needed items not accounted for in the operating budget.

“At Washington Elementary, we don’t send children out to ‘sell.’ Instead, we focus on those events that connect our school with our community,” said Ashley Garcia, Washington Elementary Principal.

Funds from past Tour of Homes events have helped build a climbing wall for the gym, update the music room and provide snacks for the various after school programs. This year, the funds raised during the event will be used to equip the school with technology upgrades.

Tickets are $20 in advance, available at Washington Elementary School (WES) school office, French Metro Antiques, The Gift House, or the Bank of Fayetteville on the square.

Tickets can also be purchased the day of the event for $25 at any of the six homes participating in the self-guided tour.
