School is almost out for summer, and that means it’s time for the Summer Reading Club at Fayetteville Public Library.

Sign ups for this year’s program for children and adults are now open on the library’s website. The summer program utilizes an app called READsquared that tracks the minutes spent reading physical books, eBooks, graphic novels, picture books, or listening to audio books.

Kids will earn a point for every minute that they read this summer, and will be entered into a drawing for prizes for every 100 points they earn. The goal for each child is to reach 1,000 points, equal to 20 minutes a day of reading for 7 weeks.

Each child and teen who completes the program by reaching 1,000 points will receive a free book.

Adults may also participate in the program, and will earn a weekly prize for every book they read. Adults will also be entered into the grand prize drawing for every five books they finish this year.

More information about the program, including sign up info is available at faylib.org.
