Wanna geek out on a beautiful hike led by local scientists, learning about birds, plants, and geological history?

Yeah. Us too.

Anyway, you’ll get a chance to do that next month, when the NWA Land Trust hosts a Geology Hike Jan. 26 on Kessler Mountain.

The hike will be led by Emeritus Professor of Geosciences Walt Manger and local bird expert Joe Neal, who will guide attendees through an “easy and informative” hike through the private Rock City Trail on Kessler Mountain in Fayetteville.

From the event description:

Dr. Manger will teach about the geologic history of Kessler Mountain, and Joe Neal will share information about local birds and plants found along the way.

The hike is intended for folks age 13 and older, and is free for members of the NWA Land Trust. Non-members can also participate for a $5 registration fee.
