Washington County animal shelter offers spring pet adoption incentives

If you’re looking for a new furry friend, this might just the time of year to bring one home.

The Lester C. Howick Animal Shelter of Washington County is offering several incentives this spring to make adopting a pet easy.

During the month of March, the shelter is offering $17 adoptions of both cats and dogs. The adoption fee includes the cost to spay/neuter, vaccinate, and microchip your pet.

Next month, the shelter is partnering with local outdoor apparel company Fayettechill to offer incentives to would-be-pet owners that adopt during a special event set for Saturday, April 4 from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. During the event, Fayettechill will offer a 20% off voucher to anyone who stops by to check out the animals, and a $25 gift card to anyone who adopts an animal that day.

The Washington County Animal Shelter is located at 801 W. Clydesdale Drive. The shelter is open weekly Monday-Friday from 10:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., and on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.
